Shagbands? OMG what next for our children?

October 1, 2009

Whilst chatting to a group of parents this morning, one of them told how she’d had an interesting conversation with her 14 year old daughter about the new phenomenon to hit our schools – SHAGBANDS!?  What on earth is that all about?  Well apparently they are coloured bands worn around the wrist.  Each coloured band represents a different sexual act from kissing to full blown sexual intercourse.  If someone breaks one of the bands on your wrist, you are then supposed to perform that sexual act on them!!!  Ok so it might just sound like silly school stuff, but whilst some kids will hopefully just laugh it off – others might take it a step too far when someone declines to perform the sexual act dictated by the broken band.

Parents beware – these bands are sold for approximately £1.25, easily affordable to kids with pocket money and they are actually branded as “Shagbands” on the packet.  Many schools are banning them from being worn but that doesn’t always stop it, does it!?
