I believe in GHD!

April 19, 2010

Of course by that, I mean my GHD hair straighteners!!  I’m sure many of you Mummys out there will know where I’m coming from when I say that I’m at that stage in my pregnancy where my hair is just a nightmare with a life of its own.  After having Little Bean my hair was in terrible condition as she really seemed to sap the life out of it so I had all my hair cut off short but instantly regretted it.  What I also regretted was the fact that the only pair of GHD straighteners I owned were the wide plate ones for long hair (as I’ve pretty much always had long hair).  My hair was so short that I couldn’t get my GHD’s anywhere near my hair and since I was on maternity leave with limited pay I couldn’t afford to buy myself the slimmer plated GHDs.  Since then I have “got by” with a cheaper pair of Babyliss straighteners which have done the job but I’m sorry to say I’ve never felt the same affinity for them.

I have for the past 9 months or so been desperately trying to grow my hair and its been a slow, long, drawn out process.  Even today I’m not quite at shoulder length but this morning I re-discovered my GHDs and thought I would give them a try.  THEY WORKED and oh what a difference, today I feel like I have healthy looking hair and it has given me my confidence back.  I almost feel like a yummy mummy again, and I vow that the next time I make an insane decision to cut my hair off, I will make sure that I can afford slim plated GHDs first!
